Sylvan Draphyn

These creatures are related to elemental drakes and resemble griffons, except that their hindquarters appear dragonlike rather than lionlike. Their physiology includes elemental qualities. They are semi intelligent, able to understand language, and possess a strong imprinting instinct. These qualities give them the potential to make fierce and powerful aerial mounts for a humanoid, provided said being can withstand their elemental effects and meet their considerable demand for food and attention.
Sylvan Draphyn are an uncommon breed, resembling a hybrid of an eagle-like creature with brilliant emerald plumage and a green earth drake. Infused with life energy, they have an especially wild temperament and the ability to regenerate their wounds quickly. Feathers and talon clippings from a live Sylvan Draphyn can be used in the making of powders and elixirs of healing and growth, enhancing their effect.
