Cloud Draphyn
Draphyn [egg < 21, hatchling < 101, adult 101+]
These creatures are related to elemental drakes and resemble griffons, except that their hindquarters appear dragonlike rather than lionlike. Their physiology includes elemental qualities. They are semi intelligent, able to understand language, and possess a strong imprinting instinct. These qualities give them the potential to make fierce and powerful aerial mounts for a humanoid, provided said being can withstand their elemental effects and meet their considerable demand for food and attention.
Cloud Draphyn are a common breed, resembling a hybrid of a roc-like bird and air drake. They are entirely tireless in flight and can even sleep on the wing... owing to the infusion of elemental air in their feathers. Such is the power of this infusion that a single feather kept on one's person will slow that person's descent to a safe speed, allowing one to fall from any height without injury.
